CELESTÚN

The Celestún Chair, made of cedar wood and flexible fabric cables, draws inspiration from traditional Mexican woven chairs. It plays with shapes, colors, and materials to create an interactive and unique space. Designed for easy assembly and disassembly, it is perfect for outdoor use. The materials were chosen based on research into commonly used materials in woven chairs, honoring Mexican culture and highlighting the vibrant colors of the country. This design is submitted for the DI Mueble competition.

DETAILS

We can notice the knots that tighten each end of the cords. As a detail, the cords are visible on the front and back of the chair's backrest and legs, adding to its aesthetic appeal. These knots and cords not only provide structural integrity but also serve as a visual connection to traditional weaving techniques, enhancing the overall design of the chair.

ERGOMOMIC CONSIDERATIONS

approx. 45 cm from the floor to the seat. The dimensions of the flexible fabric cables range from 81 cm - 14 cm at the top and from 20 cm - 1.40 cm at the bottom.
